โฆ Synopsis
Hindered rotation analogs of the antipsychotic mazapertine (1) were prepared. These compounds exhibited high affinity for the 5-HTl* receptor, but not for other serotonin or dopamine receptors. The related p carboline structures were also synthesized and were found to he potent .S-HT~A ligands. 0 1997

AbstractรNew (benzimidazolyl)amines have been synthesized from 4-and 6-bromobenzimidazole derivatives via palladium-mediated amination reactions. Among them, (benzimidazol-4(7)-yl)piperazine derivatives have been shown to be a new family of high afยฎnity 5-HT 1A receptor ligands.
