Abstract
Monosubstituted amidinate complexes [RC(NR′)~2~]ECl~2~ [E = Sb, R = __t__Bu, R′ = __i__Pr 1, Cy 2, 2,6‐__i__Pr~2~C~6~H~3~ (Dipp) 3; R = __n__Bu, R′ = __i__Pr 4; E = Bi, R = __t__Bu, R′ = __i__Pr 5, Dipp 6] were prepared in high yields by salt elimination reactions of ECl~3~ with Li amidinates. 1–6 were characterized by elemental analyses, NMR and IR spectroscopy and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. In addition, computational calculations were performed to clarify the different bonding modes in 1 and 5. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2009)
