β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
A nonlinear design procedure for microwave power amplifiers is presented. The methodology makes use of a complete nonlinear model for the active device and an exact nonlinear analysis method. Suitable harmonic loading conditions for efficient power performance are imposed simultaneously and consistently with the analysis. The procedure is much faster than conventional repeated nonlinear analyses. Β© 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Verification of the Materka-Kacprzak model suitable for highly saturated MESFET operation is presented. To examine the validity of the model, a broadband microwave class-E power amplifier was designed and fabricated using a Siemens CLY5 ( ) MESFET transistor. A 200 MHz bandwidth 22% from 0.82 to 1.0

## Abstract A nonlinear model of the power amplifier in a multiβcarrier transmission system is discussed. It is emphasized that when the amplifier is driven by a signal with a large dynamic range, the thirdβorder model of its nonlinearity may be invalid. Taking into account high order components of
The effect of second-harmonic loading on power amplifiers operated with a low-voltage supply is investigated. Closed-form expressions and design formulas are derived, making use of a simplified device model. The correctness of the assumptions and the validity range of the derived expressions is then
