In order to obtain detailed data on the structure-activity relationship of cytostatically active alkylglycerophosphocholine analogues, rac l-chloro-l-deoxy-2-O-hexadecylglycero-3-phosphocholine was synthesised via 2-O-alkyl-l-chloro-l-deoxyglycerol and (2-O-alkyl-l-chloro-ldeoxyglycero-3)-2-bromoethyl hydrogen phosphate.
