✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A clean and expeditious route for the synthesis of 2‐aryl‐4‐ferrocenyl‐quinoline derivatives through microwave‐assisted multicomponent reaction of ferrocenecarboxaldehyde with ketone and dimedone in the presence of ammonium acetate using water as reaction media at 100^°^C is described. This procedure lends itself well to combinatorial methods, providing the target heteropolymetallic compounds in excellent yield. J. Heterocyclic Chem., (2011).
