In a previous paper we have described a difference in rate of growth between eggs from a large race of rabbits and those 'from a small race. Eggs were obtained as early as forty-eight hours and as late as 168 hours after copulation. Stages between these limits were also studied.
At the time of ovulation eggs from the small race are of the same size as those from the large race; however, eggs of the large strain segment faster than those of the small strain, but differentiation is at the same rate. It was found that as 199
