## Abstract Tomatoes having colourless or β€œwaxy” areas in the walls are shown to have a lower content of dry matter than normally ripened fruit. Lower concentrations of total soluble solids, sugars, nitrogenous compounds and titratable acids are also found in sap expressed from β€œwaxy” than from nor
