โœฆ Synopsis

A rapid, simple, and sensitive fluorometric method has been developed for the determination of arsenic(III) with fluorescein as fluorogenic reagent (l ex ร… 495 nm, l em ร… 516 nm) at pH 5.2-7.0. A linear calibration curve was obtained in the range 0.01-2.5 mg As(III)/25 ml. The detection limit is 0.01 mg As(III)/25 ml. The method was successfully applied to the determination of arsenic(III) in waste-and river water.

Intact fluorescein isothiocyanate-labeled proteins have relatively low background fluorescence at excitation and emission wavelengths of 495 and 525 nm, respectively. Degradation of these substrates leads to exposure of covalently linked fluorescein isothiocyanate molecules and to a concomitant incr

The 2-aminothiophenol-based fluorometric assay of Nakano et al. (1973, J. Pharm. Soc. Jpn. 93, 350-353) for monosaccharides has been modified to improve the speed, applicability, and sensitivity of the method. The improved assay is applicable to complex carbohydrates as well as to monosaccharides. L
