✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A novel broadband multi‐T‐shaped monopole antenna is presented. The proposed antenna has a broadband impedance bandwidth of 32.9%, which covers PCS, UMTS, WiBro, and WLAN bands. For frequencies over the operating bands, the proposed antenna displays omni‐directional radiation patterns. The proposed antenna has compact dimensions of 14 mm × 14 mm. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A broadband low‐profile printed T‐shaped monopole antenna is presented. It is demonstrated that, by short‐circuiting the central arm of a low‐profile T‐shaped monopole to the ground plane, much improved impedance matching over a wide frequency range can be achieved. A cross-shaped slot is introduced in a planar monopole antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) in order to achieve broadband dual-frequency operation. This slot-loaded technology can compact the antenna size and lead to good impedance matching in a wide dualband covering 2.4/5.2/5.8-GHz WLAN opera

## Abstract A novel dual‐frequency shorted T‐shaped monopole antenna is proposed. The T‐shaped monopole is comprised of two horizontal arms of different lengths, which generate two separate resonant modes for the desired dual‐frequency operation, and one vertical arm is short‐circuited to a ground
