## Abstract A broadband printed π‐shaped monopole antenna is presented. The antenna is easily achieved by adding two short vertical strips (one is a feeding strip and one is a short‐circuiting strip) to a long horizontal strip, forming into a π shape with a low profile. This antenna can generate a

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel broadband multi‐T‐shaped monopole antenna is presented. The proposed antenna has a broadband impedance bandwidth of 32.9%, which covers PCS, UMTS, WiBro, and WLAN bands. For frequencies over the operating bands, the proposed antenna displays omni‐directional radiation patterns. The proposed antenna has compact dimensions of 14 mm × 14 mm. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A broadband low‐profile printed T‐shaped monopole antenna is presented. It is demonstrated that, by short‐circuiting the central arm of a low‐profile T‐shaped monopole to the ground plane, much improved impedance matching over a wide frequency range can be achieved. A constructed protot
A cross-shaped slot is introduced in a planar monopole antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) in order to achieve broadband dual-frequency operation. This slot-loaded technology can compact the antenna size and lead to good impedance matching in a wide dualband covering 2.4/5.2/5.8-GHz WLAN opera
## Abstract A broadband E‐shaped monopole antenna for universal serial bus (USB) dongle applications is demonstrated experimentally and numerically. According to the experimental results, the operating mode has an impedance bandwidth of approximately 39.8% (1.83–2.74 GHz) that covers the UMTS, WiBr
## Abstract A novel dual‐band monopole antenna that consists of symmetrical G‐shaped strips and triangular branches, fed by a 50‐Ω microstrip transmission line is introduced. The designed antenna is proposed for wireless local area networks (WLAN) applications in the 2.4 and 5.2/5.8 GHz bands. The
