Abstract
A broadband Eβshaped monopole antenna for universal serial bus (USB) dongle applications is demonstrated experimentally and numerically. According to the experimental results, the operating mode has an impedance bandwidth of approximately 39.8% (1.83β2.74 GHz) that covers the UMTS, WiBro, WLAN, and SβDMB bands, and omnidirectional radiation patterns were obtained. It is suitable for application to a USB dongle with its relatively low profile. Β© 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
