Abstract

(−)‐(S)‐ and (+)‐(R)‐3‐methylcyclopentene (1) has been prepared in a stereochemically unambiguous synthesis. The (S)‐configuration for (−)‐1 was confirmed by correlation with (−)‐(S)‐1‐methylindane.
