โœฆ Synopsis

In this note, a class of discontinuous feedback laws that switch over branches of parabolas in the auxiliary state plane is analyzed. Conditions are provided under which controllers belonging to this class are second order sliding-mode algorithms: they ensure uniform global finite-time output stability for uncertain systems of relative degree two.

A partially recursive backstepping-like procedure to design estimation-based controllers for uncertain nonlinear systems is presented in this paper. Its motivation relies on the intent of reducing the computational load of the backstepping design by exploiting the simplicity of sliding mode control.

In this article, a second-order sliding mode control (2-SMC) is proposed for second-order uncertain plants using equivalent control approach to improve the performance of control systems. A Proportional + Integral + Derivative (PID) sliding surface is used for the sliding mode. The sliding mode cont
