โฆ Synopsis
Static and dynamic effects of a fast bistable device containing a ferroelectric liquid crystal are investigated theoretically. The switching mechanisms are different a t low and high electric fields. There is a critical voltage which separates a bulk switching regime from the regime of domain wall motion. This threshold is determined as a function of physical device parameters.
Aus theoretischer Sicht werden statische und dynamische Effekte einer schnellschaltenden bistabilen Anordnung untersucht,, die einen ferroelektrischen Flussigkristall enthiilt. Die Schaltmechanismen unterscheiden sich bei starken und schwachen elektrischen Feldern. Eine kritische Schwellspannung trennt die Regimes der Domiinenwanderung und des homogenen Schaltens voneinander ab. Die Abhiingigkeit dieser Schwelle von physikalichen Parametern der Zelle wird bestimmt.
