✦ Synopsis
The scattering of a plane wa¨e by a magnetized ferrite sphere is rigorously analyzed by a finite-difference time-domain technique with a perfectly matched layer. The field components in the sphere and power᎐density distribution on the surface of the sphere are obtained. The circulating characteristics of the scattered field due to the magnetized ferrite sphere are obser¨ed. The insertion loss and isolation coefficient of the scattering of a magnetized ferrite sphere are presented and compared with the experimental results of a wa¨eguide Y-junction circulator with a ferrite sphere.
