✦ Synopsis

Abstract

We have produced somatic cell hybrids between totipotent mouse teratocarcinoma and myeloma cells. These hybrids behave like the teratocar‐cinoma cell parent and express teratocarcinoma embryonal antigens. However, they also express the myeloma H‐2 antigens. The availability of these hybrids should make it possible to study the expression of already rearranged immunoglobulin genes during mouse development.

## Abstract We have produced somatic cell hybrids between totipotent mouse teratocarcinoma cells and rat hepatoma cells. These hybrids were tested for the expression of liver specific functions expressed in the hepatoma cell parent and for their ability to differentiate when injected into nude mice

Most murine plasma-cell tumors show a t( 12; IS) reciprocal chromosomal translocation which truncates the first exon of one of the myc gene alleles and fuses it to one of the switch regions of the immunoglobulin (Ig) heavy-chain locus. This results in constitutive activation of the translocated myc

Expression of the rearranged c-myc oncogene and transformed phenotypes was investigated in 2 different types of somatic cell hybrid clones between a BALB/c mouse plasmacytoma line (S194) and normal allogeneic spleen cells or fibroblasts. In the parental S194 cells, one allele of the c-myc was rearra

## Abstract Somatic cell hybrids were generated by fusing human (A549) cells, cloned after infection with the feline xenotropic CCC virus, to mouse (3T3) cells which are non‐permissive for this virus. Hybrid clones were found to be capable of expressing infectious virus. CCC virus expression, howev

The role of normal-cell-derived chromosome 15 in suppressing transformed phenotypes was studied in intraspecific hybrid clones between the c-myc oncogene activating BALBlc mouse plasmacytoma (S194) cells and normal spleen cells or fibroblasts from CBA/H-T6 mice. ## Abstract Hybrid clones derived from a nitrosocarbaryl‐transformed Balb/3T3 cell line, Clone H, and a nontransformed cell line TH02 resemble the transformed parent in the clone morphology, higher saturation density, colony formation in medium with reduced serum concentration, growth in agarose an
