Tobacco mosaic virus-resistant tobacco was selected in vitro using callus tissues induced from axillary buds of systemically infected tobacco plants. Callus lines in which the virus was continuously multiplying were first isolated and redifferentiated into shoots. By the procedure, non-diseased, hea
