✦ Synopsis
The ESR spectra obtained from mechanica!ly degraded polystyrene have been ascribed to specific end-and chain-radicals. Studies of a-deuteropolystyrene indicate that, at low temperatures, the end-radicals predominate but, as the temperature is raised, these convert to the chain-type.
