Methyl methacrylate-maleic anhydride copolymers have been subjected to y-irradiation. The ESR spectra depend on both the temperature and the content of maleic anhydride in the copolymer. By accurate determination of the spectra and by investigation of the decay of its individual components, computer-simulated spectra have been constructed; it has been possible to study the decay or the formation of individual radicals and the effects of temperature and copolymer composition. ESR spectra of irradiated methyl methacrylate-maleic anhydride copolymers have been compared with those of radicals trapped in y-irradiated polymethyl methacrylate.
