Lactone (RX+)-1, was prepared from (2S)-(-)-2-allyl-[3',4'-(methylenedioxy)phenyl] propan-l-01 (7). This intermediate was synthesized by two complemenw pathways, using as the key steps the diastereoselective alkylation of esters 4 and 5, respectively.
