✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Dialkyl 4‐(dialkoxyphosphoryl)‐3‐oxobutanoates (1), upon yeast‐mediated bioreduction, afforded chiral dialkyl 4‐(dialkoxyphosphoryl)‐3‐hydroxybutanoates (2) in moderate to good yields and ee values. Significant improvement was reported for the preparation of dialkyl 4‐(dialkoxyphosphoryl)‐3‐oxobutanoates (1), the key substrates of this bioreductive conversion. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
