✦ Synopsis
The combination of (i) an optically active, axially chiral πelectron-deficient tetracationic cyclophane derivative of cyclobis(paraquat-p-phenylene), in which both of the pphenylene spacers have been replaced by axially-chiral 3,3Јdisubstituted binaphthol spacers, and (ii) enantiomeric, πelectron-rich substrates, in which a hydroquinone ring is inserted into the polyether backbone terminated by carboxyl groups and substituted in a C 2 -symmetric manner by two methyl groups, thus creating two equivalent chiral centers in the substrate, produces in solution 1:1 complexes in which the π-electron-rich substrates are inserted into the πelectron-deficient cavities of the cyclophanes in a pseudorotaxane-like manner. The differences in the free energies of complexation for (RR) and (SS) enantiomers of

## Abstract Herein we report on the self‐assembly, in a low polarity solvent, of a pseudorotaxane species comprising binaphthyl‐26‐crown‐8 (BN26C8) as the macrocyclic host and anthracenyl‐benzylammonium as the threadlike positively charged guest (ABH^+^). Absorption and luminescence data reveal a v
The lipophilic deoxyguanosine derivatives 1 are versatile molecules which, depending on to the experimental conditions, undergo different self-assembly patterns. In the presence of K ions, octamers or columnar oligomers are formed based on the G-quartet structure. In these aggregates the quartets c
Multiple intramolecular interactions help to stabilize the novel [2]pseudorotaxanes formed from 1,2-bis(pyridinium)ethane dications (which act as axles) and 24-membered crown ethers (which act as wheels; see structure). This is the first successful sythesis of [2]pseudorotaxanes with [24]crown-8 as
