✦ Synopsis

An electronic Raman spectrum has been observed in a resonance Raman study of the [ IrCle ] *-ion; the observed spectrum arises from transitions between the two spin-orbit components (U' per (U' ) state is split possibly by a Jahn-Teller effect into Kramers dou % % , Ei) of the *T, electronic ground state. The uplets (Ei, Eb), an 2 vibrational progressions are observed ased on each doublet.
