An electronic Raman spectrum has been observed in a resonance Raman study of the [ IrCle ] \*-ion; the observed spectrum arises from transitions between the two spin-orbit components (U' per (U' ) state is split possibly by a Jahn-Teller effect into Kramers dou % % , Ei) of the \*T, electronic groun

Resonance Raman spectroscopy has been used to study the oxidation of ferrocene in zeolite cavities. The formation of the ferricenium cation in the presence of oxygen is strongly influenced by the co-cations present inside the zeohte cavities.
