✦ Synopsis
This paper deals with the electrocatalytic oxidation of propargyl alcohol (PA) at a platinum electrode in aqueous acid medium. During prolonged electrolyzes, the transformation is found to be highly selective towards the production of propargyl aldehyde (PAL). The effects on the selectivity of kinetic parameters, as the initial concentration of propargyl alcohol and the current density, are evaluated and correlated to the rate constant.
