✦ Synopsis

The adsorption and electrooxidation

reaction of mesoxalic acid adsorbed molecules on a polycrystalline platinum electrode, in acid medium, have been studied by potentiodynamic and potentiostatic techniques.

The mesoxalic acid adsorption features and the number of sites per molecule have been determined. This organic acid oxidizes through an irreversible four electron reaction. A mechanism is postulated according to the experimental kinetic parameters.

This paper deals with the electrocatalytic oxidation of propargyl alcohol (PA) at a platinum electrode in aqueous acid medium. During prolonged electrolyzes, the transformation is found to be highly selective towards the production of propargyl aldehyde (PAL). The effects on the selectivity of kinet

The electrocatalytic oxidation of 1,2-propanediol has been investigated in acid medium both on bare Pt electrddes, and on adatom modified Pt electrodes. Relatively small enhancement catalytic effects are found with Cd, Pb and Re adatoms, whereas strong inhibiting effects are observed with Bi and Tl
