✦ Synopsis
Abstract
In this study, a new and simple formulation is presented for a rectangular dielectric resonator antenna and called as efficient dielectric waveguide model. The results obtained are compared with that of the previous studies and experimental values. It is shown that considerable improvement is achieved over the previous theories within very small percentage errors for almost all cases. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A dual and wideband single‐element rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) excited by a microstrip aperture is investigated experimentally. It provides two passbands in the ranges of 2.21–2.855 GHz and 4.385–5.455 GHz, which are popular bands for wireless local‐area networks (WLA
## Based on the concept of effecti¨e dimensions, a modifica-( ) tion to the con¨entional wa¨eguide model CWGM , usually used to predict the resonant frequency of rectangular DRA, is introduced. Compared with the experimental results, it is found that this newly introduced MWGM yields more accurate
## Abstract A technique for effectively tuning the resonant frequency of a microstripline feed dielectric resonator (DR) antenna is demonstrated. By embedding a pair of narrow slots in the antenna's ground plane, the resonant frequency of the DR antenna can be varied by adjusting the embedded slot
## Abstract A compact rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented for ultra wide band communication systems. Ansoft HFSS 3D electromagnetic solver is used for the design optimization and measurement results are also provided. The proposed antenna has a low profile (∼3), a small size
