✦ Synopsis
Based on the concept of effecti¨e dimensions, a modifica-(
) tion to the con¨entional wa¨eguide model CWGM , usually used to predict the resonant frequency of rectangular DRA, is introduced. Compared with the experimental results, it is found that this newly introduced MWGM yields more accurate results for the resonant frequency than the CWGM. Accuracy of the results is also checked by comparison with numerically calculated ¨alues using a TLM-based commercial software. It is also found that the MWGM not only yields accurate ¨alues, but also results in considerable computation time sa¨ings.
