β¦ Synopsis
enough for the characterization of cationic lipid-mediated gene transfer in various adherent cells. If an increase of sensitivity is required, either buffers other than HBSS and Tris-HCl can be used or a higher incubation temperature can be employed. Nevertheless, we found this assay highly suitable for our purposes allowing fast, easy, and inexpensive determination of cell viability and reporter gene expression after lipofection, and thus a characterization of cationic liposomes regarding their transfection properties.
