Itt general, ~t.~ the temperature is increased (i) ignition lay decreases, {ii) the .slope of i:,nition lag/temperatur~ relationship become~ less steep, arm (iii) the marked effect of fuel-air eomposi';on ob~uererd neon the minimum ignitiou point decreases and eventually/terul.s to disappear. Altho,~gl, the general tre~v'l of behaviour of different hydrocarbons with increasing temperature is simiblr, there are u.~'uall!l marked differences amongst them with re.,pect to the above characteristics at all temperature leeels. "I'hi.~. often results in a change in the order of relative susceptibility to ignition of the different fuels at higher temperatures. The result# obtained, while i~ulicating the yeneral pattern of tran.~ition io ignition characteristics, from lower temperatures to higher temperature.~, help in eoor, li~ltttlnff ,~'ome of the diverse obsereatiotu~ of earlq iuvestigatoru.
