β¦ Synopsis
The influence that a series of additives has on the threshold temperature for the ignition of an explosive decomposition of acetylene by a heated wire has been determined over an acetylene pressure range of 2-22 attn. The additives include CO2, NO, HBr, HC1, HI, CHaCI, CH3Br , CF3Br , C2H3Br , and SO 2. NO, HBr, HCI, HI, and C2H3Br stabilize acetylene to a degree that cannot be explained by physical effects alone, and which implies a chemical interference with the initiation of the decomposition reaction. CHaC1 , CHaBr, and CFaBr have no measurable effect on the ignition, while SO 2 mildly promotes it. The methyl halides, vinyl bromide, and CFaBr react with acetylene to a significant extent under the conditions used in this study. The hydrogen halides both react with acetylene and partially decompose on the heated ignition wire.

## Abstract Polymer modified bitumen (PMB) is a binder obtained by the incorporation of polymer into the bitumen by mechanical mixing or chemical reaction. This study deals with the modification of bitumen with three types of polymers (LDPE, EVA, and SBS) in the presence of filler (CaCO~3~). The mo
