โฆ Synopsis
We grew Bi 2 Sr 2 Ca nร1 Cu n O y (Bi-based) whiskers using various particle sizes and concentrations of Al 2 O 3 . We found that the growth rate of the Bi-based whiskers was dependent on the concentrations and the thickness of seeding Al 2 O 3 particles in the grassy quenched platelet. The resistance-temperature and current-voltage characteristics indicated that the grown Bi-based whiskers had the critical temperature T c of about 85 K and the critical current I c of about 150 mA at 44 K and 0 T, which corresponds to the critical current density of 2 โข 10 5 A/cm 2 .
