✦ Synopsis

The molecule of the title compound, C 9 H 9 Cl 2 NO 2 , is a zwitterion with cationic iminium and an anionic phenolate group, which form an intramolecular N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bond closing a six-membered pseudocycle. Intermolecular O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into infinite chains running along the c axis.
