✦ Synopsis

The characteristics of a planar inverted-L (PIL) bowtie patch antenna in the 1-3.5-GHz band are investigated. The proposed design is based on a modified PIL patch antenna in a finitesized ground with 50⍀ microstrip feed line. The patch antenna can achieve a more flexible frequency ratio and has the advantage of easy fabrication. The experimental results are presented and discussed.
