β¦ Synopsis
The kinetics of the title reactions were investigated in a discharge flow tube by using laser magnetic resonance detection of HO2. The upper limits for the bimolecular rate constants for the reactions of HO2 with H2S ( k l ) , CH3SH (k2), and CH3SCH3 ( k 3 ) are <3 X <4 X and <5 X cm3 molecule-l s-l, respectively, at 298 K. Our upper limit for kl is three orders of magnitude lower than the previously reported value.
Measurements at higher temperatures also yield similar upper limits. Our results suggest that HO2 is not an important oxidant for these reduced compounds in the atmosphere.

The geometries of CH3SCH200 and the related CI-ISSCH20 radical are similar to other organic radicals
A kinetic study has been made of the gas phase, I,-catalyzed decomposition of (CH&S at 630-650 K. Some I, is consumed initially, reaching a steady-state concentration. The initial major products are CH4 and CH,S together with small amounts of CH3SCHZI, CHSI, HI, and CS2. The initial reaction corresp
Rate constants for the reactions of OH radicals and Cl atoms with CH,CH,NO>, CH,CH,CH,NO,, CH3CH2CH2CHzN02, and CH,CH2CH2CH,CH2N02 have been determined at 295+3 K and a total pressure of approximately 1 atm. The OH rate data were obtained using both the absolute rate technique of pulse radiolysis co

## Abstract Pulse radiolysis techniques were used to measure the gas phase UV absorption spectra of the title peroxy radicals over the range 215β340 nm. By scaling to Ο(CH~3~O~2~)~240 nm~ = (4.24 Β± 0.27) Γ 10^β18^, the following absorption cross sections were determined: Ο(HO~2~)~240 nm~ = 1.29 Β± 0
