Toxins Bl and B2 from cultured dinoflagellates of the genus FrotogonyauZaa: are shown to be the carbamoyl-N-sulfo derivatives of saxitoxin and neosaxitoxin, the structures confirmed by synthesis from the corresponding decarbamoyl toxins.

By x-ray crystallography of the 116 epimer, toxins C3 and C4 are shown to be 2lsuIfo-N-Ihydroxysaxitoxin-llo-and Ilf%-~ydroxysulfate, confirming the position and identity of the 3 substituents which, with the parent compound, form the array of 12 saxitoxins found in Protogonyaulax.

## Abstract A ceramide monohexoside, acanthacerebroside B^1b,2a)^, was purified from the water‐insoluble lipid fraction of the chloroform/methanol extract of the starfish __Asterina pectinifera__ MΓΌller et Troschel using reversed‐phase HPLC. A new method for identification of components of the cera
