β¦ Synopsis
Image theory has been applied to calculate the electromagnetic fields scattered from a pe$ectly conducting, infinitely long, finned cylinder. Detailed analysis shows that the fields diffracted from the curved wedge of the geometry can be equiuatent to the sum of two groups of creeping waves propagating along the cylinder surface with opposite creeping directions, which may be helpful for understanding the mechanism of curved wedge diffraction. Excellent agreement has been observed between the numerical and analytical results.
