✦ Synopsis

A new method is de¨eloped for antenna radiation pattern analysis using spherical near fields and the uniform geometrical theory of ( ) diffraction UTD . The spherically scanned tangential electric near field is transformed to the present one to more efficiently obtain the far-field antenna pattern by employing UTD. Examples illustrating the accuracy and speed of the method presented in this paper for large antennas are presented.
