## Abstract Die Umsetzung von 2,6‐Diphenyl‐piperidon‐(4)‐dicarbonsäure‐(3,5)‐dialkylestern mit o‐Aminothiophenol in siedendem Xylol führt zu einer Ringspaltung. Als Reaktionsprodukt wurde neben 2‐Phenylbenzothiazol das 3‐Hydroxy‐2‐benzyl‐1‐oxo‐1H‐benzo[d]pyrido‐[2,1‐b]thiazol isoliert.

**The Reaction of 2,2′‐Bipyrrole with Triethyl Orthoformate** 2,2′‐Bipyrrole (**1**) and triethyl orthoformate react in the presence of a Lewis acid to the hitherto unknown 1,9‐Bis(2‐pyrrolyl)pyrromethene (**4**) which was identified by spectroscopic methods (MS, NMR).
