In the title compound, [CuCl 2 (C 14 H 12 N 2 )(H 2 O)], there are two molecules in the asymmetric unit; both Cu atoms are fivecoordinate with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. Molecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by O-HÁ Á ÁCl and C-HÁ Á ÁCl hydrogen bonds. The packing is
