✦ Synopsis
The cis isomer of the square-planar title complex has been crystallized as the chloroform solvate, [PtCl 2 (C 15 H 18 NP) 2 ]Á-CHCl 3 . Comparison of the Pt-P and Pt-Cl bond lengths and the Cl-Pt-Cl and P-Pt-P angles with the known compounds cis-{Ph 2 PN(H)R 0 } 2 PtCl 2 reveals that the R 0 substituents have negligible effects on these structural parameters. Intramolecular N-HÁ Á ÁCl and intermolecular Pt-ClÁ Á ÁH-CCl 3 hydrogen bonds are evident in the title structure.

The title compound, [Pt(N~2~S~2~)(C~13~H~13~P)~2~]·CH~2~Cl~2~, contains Pt^II^ in a square-planar coordination. The five-membered PtS~2~N~2~ ring contains two short and one long S—N bonds. Interestingly, the S—N bond lengths have a different pattern from those in the PMe~2~Ph analogue and one of the
