The title complex, [Ni(C~12~H~16~Br~2~N~2~O~2~)~2~(H~2~O)~2~]Cl~2~·0.5H~2~O, consists of a centrosymmetric mononuclear nickel(II) complex cation, two symmetry-related chloride anions and a half-occupancy water molecule. The Ni atom, lying on an inversion centre, is six-coordinated by two phenol O at
