In the title mononuclear complex, [Co(NCS)~2~(C~5~H~5~NO~2~)~2~(H~2~O)~2~], the six-coordinated Co^II^ atom lies on an inversion center. In the crystal structure, intermolecular O—H...O (H...O = 1.85–2.01 Å) and O—H...S (H...S = 2.40 Å) hydrogen bonds link molecules into a three-dimensional network.
