The title compound, [Cu(C~5~H~3~N~6~)~2~(H~2~O)~2~], is isostructural with the manganese(II) analogue, but different from the two-dimensional structures of the zinc(II), iron(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes with the same 5-(pyrimidin-2-yl)tetrazolate ligand. Each of the two symmetry-indepen

✦ Synopsis
The title compound, [Mn(C 2 H 2 N 9 ) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]Á2H 2 O, has been prepared under hydrothermal conditions. The Mn II atom, lying on an inversion center, is coordinated in an octahedral geometry defined by four N atoms from two di-1H-tetrazol-5ylaminate ligands in the equatorial plane and two water molecules in the axial positions. The complex molecules are linked into a three-dimensional network through O-HÁ Á ÁN, N-HÁ Á ÁO and N-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bonds.
