β¦ Synopsis
A new design for a compact electronically reconfigurable single-feed dual-frequency dual-polarized operation of a square-microstrip antenna capable of achieving tunable frequency ratios in the range 1.1 to 1.37 is proposed and experimentally studied. Varactor diodes integrated with the arms of the hexagonal slot and embedded in the square patch are used to tune the operating frequencies by applying reverse-bias voltage. The design has the advantage of size reduction up to 73.21% and 49.86% for the two resonant frequencies, respectively, as compared to standard rectangular patches. The antenna offers good bandwidth of 5.74% and 5.36% for the two operating frequencies. A highly simplified tuning circuitry without any transmission lines adds to the compactness of the design.

This paper presents a new dual-frequency design for microstrip patch antennas. The proposed dual-frequency antenna is excited by a single probe feed, and the feed position is on the rectangular patch that is surrounded by a square-ring patch. The rectangular patch not only acts as a coupling-strip f
## Abstract A novel Hβshaped dualβfrequency microstrip antenna has been investigated. This novel microstrip antenna is considered to be composed of two microstrip dipoles, which resonate at the antenna's two operating frequencies, respectively. The resonant frequencies are predicted. Return loss, r
Dual-frequency operation of a single-feed circular microstrip antenna with a pair of arc-shaped slots is demonstrated. Typical designs of the proposed antenna with the frequency ratio of the two operating frequencies ranging from 1.38 to 1.58 are implemented and studied. The frequency ratio can easi

This shorted dualβfrequency microstrip antenna can result in a much reduced antenna size, and provide a tunable frequency ratio of βΌ1.26β2.33 for
