β¦ Synopsis
A procedure for the determination of the fungal metabolite mycophenolic acid in feeds is described. The sample is extracted into aqueous methanol and partitioned into dichloromethane. The extract is purified by column chromatography on silica and the analyte measured by high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet absorbance detection. Recoveries ranged from (70-80 %) in forages to (85-95 %) in fortified grain samples. and detection limits are about (0.5 \mathrm{ppm}) for hay or forage matrices and (0.1 \mathrm{ppm}) for feed grains. o 1994 Academic Press.
