โฆ Synopsis
Ninhydrin-ferric reagent reacts highly and specifically with lysine at a pH value of 1.0. Ferric ion inhibits the reaction of ninhydrin with proline, ornithine, glycine, arginine, and histidine. This method can be used to determine a lysine sample of high concentration without dilution. It has a linear response range from 0.0625 to (0.5 \mathrm{mg}) lysine. HCl. (c) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.

A ninhydrin-orthophthalaldehyde reagent for the determination of NV-methylhistidine has been developed. The sensitivity of the reagent is similar to that of ninhydrin. Since most amino acids are not detected by the reagent, this allows the determination of Nr-methylhistidine in the presence of high
In a recent communication the use of resorcinol as a reagent for the spectrophotometric determination of uranium has been rcportcd 1. Resorcinol gives a violet colour with ferric ions, which is unaffectctl by ferrous ions. In contrast to existing methods+6 the preparation of the reagent is simple. T
