## Abstract The SELective INverse detection of carbon–proton CORrelation pulse sequence that yields a 1D spectrum of a proton directly bonded to a selected carbon resonance has been converted into a proton and carbon double‐selective variant that provides a ^1^H spectrum of a selected proton that i

✦ Synopsis
Onedimensional COSY is shown to be a promising technique for the detection of small, unresolved protowproton coupling constants. Under certain circumstances the method can be more effective than two-dimensional phasesensitive COSY. A detailed analysis of the experimental conditions is presented. The possible application of the method in oligosaccharide sequencing is outlined. Another potential use of one-dimensional COSY is in the evaluation of coupling constants in macromolecules. In this case the efficiency of the polarization transfer is decreased owing to the fast transverse relaxation times of the protons. DISCO analysis was applied for the determination OX coupling constants in unresolved multiplets.

We propose the 13 C-detecting 1D DEPT long-range C-C relay to detect super long-range H-C connectivity via four bonds ( 1 H-13 C-X-X-13 C, X represents 12 C or heteronuclear). It is derived from the DEPT C-C relay which detects the H-C correlations via two bonds ( 1 H-13 C-13 C) by setting the delay
