Games, gamification, and playful experiences are not new concepts for teachers and educators. They have long been utilised as teaching tools to engage students of younger ages, mainly elementary school kids. What can be observed in the last years though, is a shift towards the systematic studying of such methods, the introduction of tools like digital games to the educator’s toolkit and the breaking down of taboos around using such learning tools with older students and adults.
