✦ Synopsis

Abstract

In this article, a novel broadband circularly polarized (CP) slot antenna is proposed and fabricated, in which, a simple perturbation configuration with a narrow rectangular slot etched near the square slot is used for perfect CP operation. Through simulating and testing, the broad impedance bandwidth of 57.6% (VSWR < 2.0) and the 3‐dB axial ratio bandwidth of 50.2% are achieved. This slot antenna will be widely used in communication field. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
