Although this section iucludcs much matorial which might seem to I)cloug to physical tbormodynamics, the manner in which it fits into the general schcme probably justifies the transference. A very important fcature of the book is a set of completely worked out csninples of the application of thcrniodynamics t o a mimber of divorsc physico-chcmical problcnis, clioscn so ns t o illustrntc tho more important mcthods dcvclopcd in the genoral taxt. l%ially, tho book is \vcll supplied with diagrams, ~i i d with rcfcrenccs to the original literature.
